Why use the Winston browser extension
The Winston browser extension allow you to easily and quickly manage the level of privacy protection provided for any websites you visit while connected to your Winston.
What does the Winston browser extension provide

Note: By default, Chrome disables all extensions, including Winston, in Incognito Mode. To enable the Winston browser extension in Chrome’s Incognito Mode follow these instructions: https://www.itsupportguides.com/knowledge-base/google-chrome/google-chrome-how-to-enable-extensions-in-incognito/
Winston browser extensions are not currently available for other browsers, operating systems or for mobile. Safari coming soon
To determine the version of the extension you currently have installed:
In your browser, Right click on the Winston icon in the top right corner of your browser window:
Select Manage Extensions. There you will see which version you have installed.
If the Winston browser extension did not update on your local machine you can manually update:
Chrome: In your browser, Right click on Winston icon in the top right corner of your browser window. Select Manage Extensions, in the top right of the screen there will be a toggle for Developer Mode. Once toggled new options including Update will appear, Left click to update.
Firefox: In your browser, Right click on Winston icon in the top right corner of your browser window. Select Manage Extensions, in the top center of the screen there will be a Gear Icon drop down for settings. Once opened new options including Check for Update will appear, Left click to update.
Note: Firefox has different settings for automatic updates, if the Winston browser extension continues to not update confirm these settings in Manage Extensions window.
What about other IoT devices that don't use a browser?
The extension is intended to strengthen privacy on browsers only, It is not possible to install extensions on most smart devices. It's not really necessary as they are typically limited use applications for more information on how Winston operates with IoT devices click here.
